Lightning scores two runs in the first inning
Marshall Awtry would get the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning as he hit a two-run home run to left-center field, which gave Goldey-Beacom a 2-0 lead.

Goldey-Beacom adds four more runs in the second inning
Does anyone want another home run? Bryan Bell would be the second batter in the second inning as he would hit a two-run home run to left field, which gave the Lightning a 4-0 lead.

Two batters later, Connor Megginson would hit a single, which would allow Jeff Gillis to score to give their team a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.
The next batter up would be Mason Maxwell as he would ground out to the second base, but that would allow Megginson to score to push Goldey’s lead to 6-0.
Goldey adds four more runs in the fifth
The Lightning would continue to pile on the runs in the fifth inning as the team scored four more runs.
Connor Megginson would start the scoring in the fifth inning as he hit a single to right field, which would bring home his teammates Jeff Gillis and Bryan Bell to give their team an 8-0 lead.
Four batters later, Ivan Solis would push in two runs by hitting a double to the right-center field, which scored Marshall Awtry and Megginson to extend Goldey-Beacom’s lead to 10-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Lightning win 15-1
After tossing five scoreless innings, Goldey’s pitcher Anthony DiMartino would have one blip in the sixth inning as he allowed one run, which cut the lead to 10-1.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Goldey-Beacom continued to pour on the runs as the team scored five more runs.
The first run of the sixth inning came when Jeff Gillis would hit a single to left-center field, which would send home Adam Slavin to push their team’s lead to 11-1.
Two batters later, Mason Maxwell would hit a single to right-center field, which allowed Michael Baginski to score to give the Lightning a 12-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Marshall Awtry would come up to the plate next as he hit into a sacrifice fly (flied out to center field), which allowed Gillis to score to push the Goldey’s lead to 13-1.
The next scoring play came when Evan Wallace would score a wild pitch, which gave his team a 14-1 lead in the sixth inning.
Joey Jourdan was the next batter up as he hit into a sacrifice fly (flied out to center field), which would bring home Maxwell to expand Goldey-Beacom’s lead to 15-1.
In the top of the seventh, it was all up to DiMartino to close this win out for the Lightning which he did just that as he struck out three batters to seal the 15-1 win.
