4-0: Hearn’s big day helps Lightning sweep Chestnut Hill

Chestnut Hill would get the scoring started in this one as Patrick Meenan would hit a single, which would score his teammates Sam Barletta and Ameir Uzzell to give their team a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.

Goldey-Beacom ties the game in the third

The first runs of the game for the Lightning came when Connor Megginson hit a double down the left-field line, which would score his teammates Trent Hearn and Garrett Musey to tie the game at two in the top of the third inning.

Lightning adds another run in the fifth

Goldey’s next run came when Marshall Awtry came up to the plate to get a sacrifice fly (flied out to center field), which allowed Trent Hearn to score to give their team a 3-2 lead at the top of the fifth inning.

Goldey adds three more runs in the sixth

Trent Hearn would knock two more runs in with his single, which would score Garrett Musey and Jeff Gillis to give the Lightning a 5-2 lead in the top of the sixth inning.

On the next play, Hearn would score on a wild pitch, which gave Goldey a 6-2 lead in the sixth inning.

After a solid day, Trevor Jump would exit the game in the sixth inning as he went five innings, gave up three hits, two runs, one earned run, two walks, four strikeouts, hit two batters, and earned the win.

Justin Jump would take over for his brother, which he would shut down the Griffins hitters for the sixth inning.

Goldey-Beacom wins 7-2

The last run of the game for the Lightning would happen thanks to a Chestnut Hill throwing error as that allowed Demetrius Johnson to score to give his team a 7-2 lead in the top of the seventh inning.

Justin Jump would close out the game for Goldey-Beacom as he dominated the Griffins hitters in the seventh inning to seal a 7-2 win.
