It took five games but the University of Delaware women’s soccer team finally have a win under their belt for the 2018 season.
The Hens took down Lafayette College on Friday at Stuart and Suzanne Grant Stadium with a 1-0 score.
The Hens took down a hot Lafayette College who had been on three game winning streak before Friday’s loss.
The standouts in the game for the Hens were senior forward Riley Curtin and Freshman goalkeeper Kamryn Stablein.
Curtin had two shots, one shots on goal and one goal in the win.
Stablein allowed zero goals and had four saves in 90 minutes of play.
Game Winning Goal
Due to mother nature, the game started 30 mins later then the original kick off time but as soon the game started, Delaware did not waste any time to score a goal.
At 2:20 minute mark, senior forward Riley Curtin had recovered a turnover from Lafayette and shot the game winning goal from 15 yards out.
Then Freshman goalkeeper Kamryn Stablein did the rest and blocked all of Lafayette’s shots at the goal.
The Blue Hens stay at home to face UMass on Sunday at 1PM ET.
