Wilmington University Places 19 Student-Athletes On CACC Spring All-Academic Teams

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference announced their CACC Spring All-Academic Teams on Tuesday and 19 Wilmington University Wildcats made the list.

The 19 Wildcats that earned this honor not only gave 100% to their respective sports but also to their studies as well.

Here is how any CACC student-athlete can become eligible for the All-Academic Team honor:

First, the student-athlete must get an minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 at the end of the previous term. Then the student-athlete must have at least two semesters under their belt and enrolled as full time student. Next, the student athlete must have been at the University or college for 2 years. Lastly, the student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the previous season before getting the honor and used a season of eligibility.

Wilmington’s Baseball  team led the way in honors with nine student-athletes earning a spot on the 2017 Spring CACC All-Academic Team. Mike Annone led the way with earning the honor a third time in his career.  Zach Rumford earned his second honor on the CACC All-Academic Team.

Wilmington women’s Lacrosse team had five student-athletes that earned a spot on the 2017 Spring CACC All-Academic Team and they included Gabby Spalt who earned the honor for the third time in her career.  Christina Ziegler also earned her second CACC All-Academic honor this year.

Wilmington’s Softball team had three student-athletes that earned a spot on the 2017 Spring CACC All-Academic Team and they included Colby Wyatt who earned the honor for the third in her career. Also, Danielle Bradley makes her second appearance on the All-Academic Team.
