Former Blue Hen Lineman Connor Bozick who was an two-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection is finally starting to achieve his NFL dream with the Detroit Lions signing him to a free agent contract, announced on Friday.
Bozick will report to the Lions pre-season camp and the former Hen joins another Delaware standout at Detroit and that is Paul Worrilow. Worrilow was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons and played four seasons there, including this year’s Super Bowl. Worrilow signed with the Lions earlier in the spring for a one year contract.
Bozick is jumping at a chance to make the team and learn from the coaches of the Lions.
“I’m excited to be joining a great organization like the Detroit Lions,” said Bozick. “The coaches here are world-class and I can’t wait to play more football and compete for a spot.”

The former Blue Hen offensive lineman left quite a legacy in his five years at Delaware with being a two-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection, earned second team honors in 2016, third team honors in 2015, competed in FCS National All-Star Bowl and the Dream Bowl All-Star Game and won the Blue Hen Touchdown Club Outstanding Senior Lineman Award.
It should shock no one when a lineman that has all that on his resume and is a very versatile player who played both Tackle and Guard in his time at the Blue Hens. The 6 ft 5 in and 365 pound Bozick played in 46 career games at Delaware and had 24 straight starts to finish up his career. The Severn, Md native had not missed a game since his redshirt freshman season in 2013.
Bozick helped lead the Blue Hens in his senior season with being the the best team in CAA and ranked eighth in the nation with the fewest sacks with 11. Also, helped the Hens to be ranked 2nd in rushing in CAA with 227.2 yards per game.
Bozick and Worrilow join six other Blue Hens in NFL camps this summer, joining Baltimore Ravens Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens Tight end Nick Boyle, Carolina Panthers Safety Mike Adams, Panthers Gino Gradkowski, Denver Broncos Defensive tackle Zach Kerr and Cleveland Browns Marcus Burley.
Lions training camp starts July 23 in Allen Park, Michigan.
