Wildcats LaShyra Williams And Tajee Almon get CACC Player Of The Week Honors

Wilmington University’s basketball teams dominated this week by beating both University of the Sciences and Holy Family. The reward for these performances was that LaShyra Williams and Tajee Almon were honored for player of the week honors by the CACC, announced on Monday.

Junior  LaShyra Williams led the Wildcats to a come from behind win over USciences and a solid win over Holy Family. Williams had 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists in the impressive comeback win over USciences. In the Holy Family game, Williams had 24 points, 4 steals and 2 assists. Williams shot 48.2 % from the floor, averaged 19.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game last week. This is Williams second CACC player of the week honor this season.

Then we go to Senior Wildcat Tajee Almon who was named Defensive Player of the week by the CACC this week.  Almon had a quite a week against University of the Sciences and Holy Family by scoring a double-double in both games. He started off the week against USciences having 16 points, 12 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots. Then against Holy Family, Almon had 13 points, 16 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block. Almon averaged an 80 % shooting percent from the field, 14.5 points and 14 rebounds per game.
