Goldey-Beacom softball sweeps Jefferson

Goldey-Beacom leads by two runs after the end of the second inning. 

The Lightning would strike first in this game, as the team would score three runs on three hits and one error to take a 3-0 edge in the opening inning.

Hannah Davis would score the first inning when she reached home after a throwing error from Jefferson’s pitch to give her team a 1-0 lead.

Junior infielder Bryn Bohmann came up to the plate next, as she would smack a two-run homer to left field to give her team a 3-0 advantage.

The Rams would cut into GBC’s lead in the top of the second when they scored one run on two hits to take the score to 3-1.

The Lightning takes a four-lead at the end of the third inning.

Goldey-Beacom would add two more runs to their score in the third inning, as sophomore infielder Morgan Scott hit an RBI single to left field and sophomore infielder Rayna Pelcak pushed in a baserunner with a Sac fly to give their team a 5-1 edge.

GBC takes a seven-run at the end of the fourth inning.

The Lightning would continue to expand their advantage in the fourth inning, as Morgan Scott and sophomore infielder Autumn Simpson would each record an RBI single, and Bryn Bohmann went home on a wild pitch to give their team an 8-1 lead.

Goldey-Beacom takes home a 9-1 win!

GBC would add one last run in the bottom of the fifth when Sophomore Emma Friel hit an RBI single to the pitcher to give her team a 9-1 win.
