Goldey-Beacom takes home a 4-0 win over Chestnut Hill

The Goldey-Beacom College softball team picked a 4-0 win in a rain-shortened game ( 5 innings) over the Chestnut Hill College Griffins on Wednesday. Game two of the doubleheader will be played on Monday, April 1st at 3 PM ET.

Game Recap:

Goldey-Beacom takes a 2-0 lead at the end of the first inning.

The Lightning would not waste any time scoring in this game, as the team scored two runs on four hits to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

Freshman Utility player McKenna Frank would start the inning off with a single to third base. 

Senior outfielder Hannah Davis would come up to plate next and hit a bunt single to the pitcher.

Junior infielder Alex Lowry would be the next batter up, as she knocked a two-run double into play to give her team a 2-0 advantage.

The Lightning takes home a 4-0 win!

GBC would widen their lead in the top of the third inning when sophomore infielder Autumn Simpson pushed in a run on a ground out, and sophomore infielder Rayna Pelcak smacked an RBI single to the pitcher to give their team a 4-0 lead.

Pitching Recap:

 Senior starting pitcher Abigail O’Shields dominated on the mound, as she went five innings, gave up two hits, and struck out eight batters.
