Blue Hens dominate in the second half to earn a 81-51 victory over UNCW

The University of Delaware women’s basketball team took care of business in the second half to take home an 81-51 victory over the UNCW Seahawks on Thursday.

Sophomore guard Nakiyah Mays-Prince would lead the team in scoring with 14 points.

Three other Hens players who scored in double-digits were senior guard Tara Cousins (13), senior forward Chloe Wilson (12), and junior guard Sydney Boone (12).

UD had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (46-14), points off of turnovers (20-13), second-chance points (8-0), fast-break points (19-9), bench points (36-8), rebounds (46-27), assists (18-12), turnovers (19-21), blocks (4-0), and steals (12-7).

Blue Hens also had the advantage in shooting as well, with the team shooting 54.5 %(36-66) and UNCW shooting 30.5 %(18-59).
