Wilmington University’s winning streak hits ten as they sweep Chestnut Hill

Game Two Recap:

The Wildcats would get the scoring started in the second matchup, as Nick Nocella would hit an RBI single up the middle of the field to give the team a 1-0 lead.

In the next inning, Wilmington would push in another run, as Tyler Pirrung would get an RBI ground out to the second baseman to extend his team’s edge to 2-0.

Fast forward to the top of the fifth inning, where Chestnut Hill’s Andrew Sawarynski hit a two-run single to left field to tie the game at two.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Wilmington would roar back with Eddie Parry hitting a two-out RBI single to left field to give his team a 3-2 advantage.

WilmU would add one last run in the sixth inning when Dom Grady hit an RBI single through the right side of the field to push the score to 4-2.

Wilmington’s pitching would do the rest to seal a 4-2 win over the Griffins.

Pitching recap:

Freshman pitcher Tyler Reinert went 4.1 innings, gave up three hits, two runs, two earned runs, five walks, three strikeouts, and hit one batter.

Junior pitcher Tyler Brown came in for Reinert, as he went 1.2 innings, one walk, hit one batter, and earned the win.
