Blue Hens would lead by eight points after the end of the first quarter.
The first six minutes and 55 seconds of this game would be a battle, as the lead changed hands seven times between the two teams. The last bucket during that time came from the University of Delaware’s Tara Cousins, who made a jump shot and then was sent to the foul line to put her team up 12-10 with 3:45 left in the opening quarter.
Fourteen seconds later, Delaware would score six straight points to extend their advantage to 18-10 with 2:02 remaining in the first quarter. Nakiyah Mays-Prince would score four of the six points during that run. Fifth-year guard/forward Makayla Pippin was also doing work during that time, as she had two rebounds, one block, and one assist.
The first quarter would with UD holding a 20-12 edge over the Huskies.
Hens would trail by three points at the end of the first half.
Northeastern would come out on fire in the early minutes of the second quarter, as they would dash off to a 12-4 run to tie the game up at 24 with 6:11 left in the opening half.
For the rest of the first half, the Huskies would outscore 13-10 to grab a 37-34 advantage over UD.
UD would lead by nine points at the end of the third quarter.
Fast forward to the 6:50 minute mark in the second half, where the University of Delaware’s Jewel Smalls would drain a three-pointer to tie the game at 45.
Thirty-three seconds later, the Blue Hens would fly off on an 18-9 run to end the third quarter with a 63-54 lead. Michelle Ojo had the hot hand during this time, as she scored nine of the 18 points.

In the first five minutes and 57 seconds of the fourth quarter, UD would hold a double-digit advantage, but the Huskies would cut the team’s lead to single digits when Gemima Motema made a layup to narrow the score to 72-64 with 3:53 remaining in the game.
Starting at the 2:54 minute mark, Delaware would outscore Northeastern 5-3 to seal a 77-67 victory. All five points came from the free-throw line.
