The University of Delaware women’s basketball team earned their second straight win on Friday as the team defeated the University of Vermont Catamounts 58-53.
Graduate student guard Kharis Idom and senior center Klarke Sconiers led the Blue Hens in scoring with 13 points.
Fifth-year guard Jewel Smalls was locked on the boards all game, as she collected 11 rebounds.
Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (28-22), second-chance points (15-8), bench points (16-5), rebounds ( 38-29), turnovers (18-20), and steals (8-6).
The Blue Hens also bested the Catamounts from the three-point line, with the team shooting 33.3 %(3-9) and Vermont shooting 28.6%(4-14). Delaware was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 73.3 %(11-15), and the Catamounts shot 69.2% (9-13).
