Goldey-Beacom opens up the season with a 5-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas

Almost eight minutes later, Goldey-Beacom would finally get the ball past Santoriello, as Angela Lee would score the first goal of the game to give her team a 1-0 lead. Alyssa Ruggeri would assist with Lee’s first goal of the game.

The Lightning would strike again at the 29: 24-minute mark, as Alex Lowry would find the net for the first time in the game to give her team a 2-0 advantage. Alexa Pacheco would assist on Lowery’s first goal of the game.

Lightning wins 5-0!

Goldey Beacom did not slow down after halftime, as four minutes into the second period, the team’s forward Alyssa Ruggeri would knock in a goal to extend the lead to 3-0. Angela Lee would assist with Rugggeri’s score.

In the next 29 minutes and 15 seconds, the Lightning would get seven shots off, but none of them found the back of the net for their next score.

Goldey’s luck would change at the 78:26 minute mark when Alex Lowry would score her second goal of the game to give the team a 4-0 advantage. Jaida Brown would assist on Lowry’s second goal of the game.

The last goal in the game came from Angela Lee, who would knock in her second of the day, which gave the Lightning a 5-0 win over the Spartans. Alyssa Ruggeri would assist on Lee’s second goal of the game.
