Blue Hens win 1-0!
The hitters were not prepared for the heat the two pitchers brought to this game, as they shut down the opposing hitters with limited hits and kept the scoreboard at zero for six innings.
That would all change in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Blue Hens would get two hits and a walk-off winner to end the game.
The bottom of the seventh inning started with senior catcher Halle Kisamore hitting a single to the shortstop. Next, senior designated player Kailey Christian would earn a spot on base with a walk. Julz Garber would come up to the plate, as she would hit a single to left field.
Before the next play, Grace Rudolph would pinch run for Christian. In the next play, Emily Blum would reach first base on a fielder’s choice, but it would allow Rudolph to dash home from the third base to just beat out the tag for THE WALK-OFF WINNING 1-0 RUN.
