Blue Hens lead by 27 points after one half of play
The University of Delaware found their rhythm pretty fast in this game, as the team jumped out to a 17-8 lead with 14:20 left in the first half. The duo of Jameer Nelson Jr. and Ryan Allen scored 15 of the 17 points on the run. Allen and Nelson Jr. were hot from the three-point line on the run as the fifth-year guard made three and the junior guard made two.
Starting at the 14:01 minute mark, Delaware would outscore Moravian 29-11, which would push their lead to 46-19 with 2:36 left in the first half. The Blue Hens would continue to be hot from the three-point line as Nelson Jr., freshman guard Wes Peterson, Redshirt sophomore guard Logan Curtis, and Gianmarco Arletti each drained one on the run.
Rebounding also played a part in the run as the team collected 18 rebounds. The team’s defense also stepped up during the run as they had four steals and one block.
The University of Delaware would add five more points to their score to end the first half with a 51-24 lead.
Hens win 94-55!
In the first five minutes of the second half, Delaware would fly off on a 21-7 run, which expanded their lead to 72-31 with 15:18 left in the game. The leader of this run was Dylan Painter, who scored ten of the 21 points on the run.
Starting at the 14:55 minute mark, the Blue Hens would outscore the Greyhounds 21-10 to extend their lead to 93-41 with 3:44 left in the game. The duo of Gianmarco Arletti and Logan Curtis would score 12 of the 21 points on the run. The defense continued their strong play as they had five steals and three blocks during that time.
In the remaining three minutes and thirty-two seconds in the game, Moravian would go on a 14-1 run, but it would not matter as the Hens would take home a dominating 94-55 win.
