Hens score two goals in the second period to earn the win
In the first period of this game, the two teams combined for nine shots, but none found the inside of the net.
The scoring action would not come until the 55:40 minute mark in the second period when Sarah D’Appolonia scored the first goal of the night, which gave Delaware a 1-0 lead. D’Appolonia’s goal was assisted by Anna Diffendal and Caitlin St. Leger.
Blue Hens would add another goal at the 82:28 minute mark when Sydni Wright found the net to give her team a 2-0 lead. Wright’s goal was assisted by D’Appolonia.
