Lightning strikes first in the fourth inning

The scoring in game two took a little bit of time as the first run hit the board in the top of the fourth inning, which would come from the bat of the Lightning.

Garrett Musey would push in two runs in the top of the fourth inning as he hit a two-run home run to give Goldey-Beacom a 2-0 advantage.

Three batters later, Justin Hill also hit a two-run home run which pushed Goldey’s lead to 4-0 in the top of the fourth inning.

Chargers score three runs in the fifth inning

The only rocky inning for Goldey’s starting pitcher Trevor Jump was in the fifth, where he gave up two walks, three hits, and three runs.

The Chargers might have cut the lead to one run (4-3), but the Lightning would expand their advantage in the sixth inning.

Garrett Musey would hit his second home run ( third of the day) of the game in the top of the sixth inning as he gave his team a 5-3 lead.

Goldey-Beacom wins 10-3!

In the seventh inning, Goldey-Beacom’s bats would continue to push in run as the team added five to give them a 10-3 lead.

The first run of the inning came when Marshall Awtry scored on a passed ball to push his team’s lead to 6-3.

Kyle Walker would be the next batter up as he hit a single to left field, which would allow Demetrius Johnson to score to push the Lightning’s lead to 7-3 in the top of the seventh inning.

Three batters later, Trent Hearn would be hit by a pitch, which would bring home Kyle Walker to extend Goldey’s lead to 8-3 in the seventh inning.

On the next play, Justin Hill would ground out to the shortstop, but it would allow Garrett Musey to score to give their team a 9-3 lead.

The last run of the game came when Connor Megginson reached first base on a fielding error, which allowed Bryan Bell to score to give the Lightning a 10-3 lead in the seventh inning.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Goldey-Beacom’s Trevor Jump went through all three Chargers batters in the inning to seal a 10-3 win.
