The Delaware State University softball team would sweep the two-game series over the Howard University Bisons on Saturday. DSU would win the first game 3-1 and the second game 4-3 in eight innings.

Game one stats and recap
The runs in the game one win for Delaware State came from graduate student infielder Jasmine Melgoza (2) and senior utility player Caitlin Meyer (1).
There were six hits in the game for the Hornets in the win, which came from Melgoza (3), graduate student outfielder Nicolette Barranger (1), and Meyer (2).
The three RBIs in the game for DSU came from Meyer (3).
Meyer would hit a two-run home run in the win.
Melgoza (1), Barranger (1), and senior utility player Hannah Crumlish (1) each stole a base in the game one win.
On the pitching side, sophomore pitcher/infielder Maikyla Nelson had a solid start as she went seven innings, gave up one run, one earned run, one walk, five hits, two strikeouts, hit one batter with a pitch, and earned the win.
