Blue Hens lead by one at the half

In the first nine minutes of this game, it was a battle between the two Colonial Athletic Association foes as the lead changed seven times and the score was tied twice. The final lead change during those nine minutes came from sophomore guard Johnny McCoy, who had a layup go in to give the Hens a 14-13 lead with 11:19 left in the first half.

About a minute later, Delaware would start to heat up as the team went on a 12-2 run, which gave them a 26-15 lead with 6:19 left in the first half. The leader of this run was Ebby Asamoah, who scored eight of the 12 points. The defensive play of the Blue Hens shined on this run as well, with four defensive rebounds, two steals, and a block.

Seconds later, Hofstra would answer back with a 16-6 run of their own, which cut the lead to one point (32-31) at the end of the first half.

During the Pride’s run, the Hens shooting went cold as the team missed seven shots in the last six minutes of the first half.

Delaware wins by 18

At the 10:34 minute mark, the Pride would score six straight points to cut the lead to one point (50-49) with 9:35 left in the game. Four of Hofstra’s six points on the run came from the free-throw line.

A couple of seconds later, the Hens would roar back in a big way with a 24-7 run, which sealed a 74-56 win over the Pride. Ryan Allen was hot from the three-point line during the run as he sunk three shots from downtown. Rebounding was also a key on this run as Delaware collected ten rebounds.
