Our 2024-2025 season player review series continues with the Delaware State University men’s basketball team as the spotlight turns to sophomore forward Kaseem Watson.
Watson was third on the team in scoring this season, with 15.5 points per game.
The DSU sophomore was on the scorecard a lot this season, recording double-digits in 24 games. He also netted six games, where Watson posted over 20 points. The Philly native also posted one 30-point game this season.
The Delaware State guard’s game-high in points this season came on February 3rd in an 84-82 win over Morgan State, in which Watson posted 30 points. He made 12 of his 19 shots, both of his three-pointers (2-2), and drained four of his five free throws.
Another highlight game for the DSU sophomore came on January 18th in a 126-38 victory over Virginia-Lynchburg, as Watson scored 21 points. He made all eight shots, drained both three-pointers, and nailed three of four free throws.
Watson was locked on the boards all season for the Hornets, landing third on the team in rebounds per game with 5.8. He recorded two double-doubles this year.
Opposing shooters did not like to see the sophomore around them, as Watson landed fourth on the team in blocks per game this season with 0.2.
The Delaware State guard averaged 15.5 points per game, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 30 games.
