Ruggeri scores two goals in Wilmington University’s 1st victory of the season

The Wilmington University women’s soccer team earned their first victory of the season with a 2-1 win over the  Adelphi University Panthers.

Game Recap:

The game all tied at one after at the end of the first half.

The first goal of this game would come from WilmU, as Freshman Cadence Serrano found senior forward Alyssa Ruggeri, who blasted the ball in the net to give her team a 1-0 lead at the 24:03 minute mark.

Almost 11 minutes later, Adelphi would get on the board when Lola Kochanskyj found the back of the net to tie the game at one at the end of the first half.

Wilmington University’s takes home a 2-1 win!

The Wildcats would come out firing in the early minutes of the second half, as after two missed shots, Ruggeri would score the second goal of the match to seal a 2-1 victory for her team. Senior defender Ellie Lawrence assisted on Ruggeri’s goal.
