The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team earned a sweep on Sunday as the team picked up two wins versus the Post University Eagles. with a 5-4 victory and a 10-8 triumph.
Let’s talk about the 5-4 victory first!

Goldey-Beacom trails by one run at the end of the first inning.
Post would strike first in this game, as Jimmy Brennan would hit an RBI single through the right side to give his team a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the opening inning.
The Lightning would trail by four at the end of the third inning.
Two innings later, the Eagles would widen their lead when Chris Corchado smacked an RBI double to right center, and then two plays later, DJ Caron would knock an RBI triple to center field to give their team a 4-0 advantage.
GBC would trail by three runs at the end of the fifth inning.
Goldey-Beacom would get their first run on the board in the the top of the fifth inning when senior infielder Darin Miller slapped a RBI double down the left line to slice the deficit to 4-1.
Goldey-Beacom takes home a 5-4 victory!
Two innings later, The Lightning would continue to claw back in this game, as the team scored four runs on two hits and one error to take a 5-4 lead.
Darin Miller would record his fourth RBI of the game when he smacked a three-run homer to right center to tie the score at four.
Seven plays later, junior outfielder Mitch Jolikko would push a runner after he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to give his team a 5-4 advantage.
Pitching Recap:
Senior pitcher Justin Jump went seven innings, gave up seven hits, four runs, three earned runs, one walk, struck out six batters, hit one batter, and earned the win.
