Bohmann records 5 RBIs in Goldey-Beacom’s sweep of Post

Goldey-Beacom trails by four runs at the end of the second inning.

Neither lineup could get a run in the first inning of the second game of the doubleheader, but that would all change in the next inning, as Post would put up four runs on five hits to take a 4-0 edge in the bottom of the second.

Some of the scoring highlights of the inning for Post came when Carli Perruso hit an RBI triple to right center, and then three batters later, Caitlin DeAngelis smacked a two-run homer to left field.

The Lightning would trail by two runs at the end of the third inning.

GBC would cut into the Eagles’ lead in the top of the third inning when the team scored two runs on two hits and an error to take the score to 4-2.

Freshman Utility player McKenna Frank would get the scoring start in the inning, as she would go home on a throwing error from Post’s catcher to slice the lead to 4-1.

Two plays later, Bryn Bohmann would push in a run with a sac fly to take the score to 4-2.

GBC would tie the score up at four at the end of the fifth inning.

The Lightning would tie the game up a four in the top of the fifth inning when Bryn Bohmann knocked an RBI single up the middle.

Goldey-Beacom takes home a 6-4 win!

GBC would take the lead in the top of the seventh inning when the team scored two runs on two hits and one error to grab a 6-4 advantage.

Alex Lowry started the scoring in the inning as she slapped an RBI double up the middle to give her team a 5-4 edge. On the next play, Lowry would score on a throwing error by the Post third baseman to take the score to 6-4.

Pitching Recap:

Junior starting pitcher Morgan McLane went 1.2 innings, gave up six hits, four runs, four earned runs, and struck out one batter.

Sophomore pitcher Alesia Doctor came in for McLane, as she went 1.1 innings, gave up four hits, walked one hitter, two strikeouts, and hit one batter.

 Abigail O’Shields would close out the game as she went four innings, gave up one hit, struck out six batters, and earned the win.
