Wilmington University’s winning streak hits 10 with a sweep over Adelphi

The Wilmington University softball team earned a sweep on Sunday as the team picked up two wins versus the Adelphi University Panthers with a 2-0 victory and a 7-0 triumph. With the two wins on Sunday, the Wildcats have now secured ten straight victories.

Game Recap:

Wilmington University takes a 1-0 lead at the end of the first inning.

The Wildcats would get on the board first in this one, as senior outfielder Sara Miller pushed in a run with a sac fly to give her team a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the opening inning.

The Wildcats take home a 2-0 win!

Five innings later, Sara Miller would back at it again, as she hit an RBI triple to right field to push Wilmington’s advantage to 2-0.

Pitching Recap:

Junior starting pitcher Kylee Gunkel dominated the Adelphi batters all game, as she went seven innings, gave up three hits, struck out four batters, and earned the win.
