The game started with UNCW dashing out to a 10-4 lead with 6:08 remaining in the first quarter.
Fast forward to the 2:09 minute mark, where the Seahawks’ Mary Ferrito would hit a jump shot to push her team’s lead to 19-10.
Starting at the 1:24 minute mark, UD would score four straight points to cut the deficit to five points (19-14) at the end of the opening quarter.
UD trails by two points at the end of the first half.
The Blue Hens would come out flying in the early minutes of the second quarter, as the team went on a 10-5 run to tie the game at 24 with 1:48 left in the first half. It would be Freshman guard Grace Sundback’s three-point shot that would even the game at 24.
Delaware’s defense also stepped up during this stretch, as the unit collected seven defensive rebounds and three steals.
Mary Ferrito would make a jump shot with less than two seconds left in the first half to give UNCW a 26-24 edge at halftime.
Delaware leads by 14 points at the end of the third quarter.
UD would dominate the Hawks in the third quarter, as the team outscored UNCW 26-10 to gain a 50-36 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
Tara Cousins and Nakiyah Mays-Prince heated up during this time, as the duo scored 13 of the team’s 26 points.
The Hens’ defense was also strong in the third quarter, as the unit collected nine defensive rebounds, six steals, and one block,

Delaware would continue to have full control of this game in the final quarter, as the team outscored UNCW 31-15 to take home an 81-51 victory.
Chloe Wilson and junior guard Sydney Boone were a hard duo to stop in the fourth as they scored 15 of the team’s 31 points.
