The Wilmington University baseball team took home a 4-2 victory over the Pace University Setters on Saturday.

Wilmington University trails by one run after one inning.
The Wildcats started the game off by going three and out, but Pace’s lineup wouldn’t, as they cashed in the bottom of the first inning by scoring one run on one hit.
Wildcats take a two-run lead after the seventh inning.
It would take six more innings before WilmU’s bats would wake up, as they would finally get on the board in the top of the seventh by scoring three runs on three hits to take a 3-1 lead.
Junior outfielder Kory Pritchard would get the scoring started off in the inning by hitting an RBI single to second base to tie the game at one.
Three plays later, Freshman Garrett Quinn would hit a two-run single to right field to give the Wildcats a 3-1 edge.
Wilmington University takes home a 4-2 victory!
The Wildcats would add another run to their lead in the top of the eighth inning when Junior infielder Zach Walker hit a solo home run to left field to extend his team’s lead to 4-1.
Pace would also score in the eighth as Matt Franco would slap an RBI double to center field, but it would not be enough, as WilmU would still take home a 4-2 victory.
Pitching Recap:
Senior pitcher Matt Warrington pitched a great game on the mound in this matchup, as he went six innings, gave up four hits, one run, one earned run, two walks, and seven strikeouts.
After the Warrington, the bullpen would do its job, as three pitchers combined to give up three hits, one run, one earned run, one walk, and three strikeouts.
