The University of Delaware women’s basketball team dominated on Friday, as the team took apart the University of North Carolina Wilmington Seahawks 73-35.
Senior guard/forward Rebecca Demeke led the team in scoring in the win with 20 points.
Fifth-year center Klarke Sconiers also scored in double-digits, with 10 points.
UD had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (32-22), points off of turnovers (18-13), second-chance points (7-6), fast-break points (25-9), bench points (38-4), rebounds (53-42), assists (20-6), turnovers (14-21), blocks (9-5), and steals (12-9).
Blue Hens also had the advantage in shooting as well, with the team shooting 40.6 %(28-69) and UNCW shooting 20.3 % (13-64). The Hens also bested the Seahawks from the three-point line, with the team shooting 33.3 %(9-27) and UNCW shooting 5.9 % (1-17).
