Game Two Leaders ( Versus Le Moyne )

RBIs:   Darin Miller would lead the team in RBIs, with three in the win.

Runs: Miller also led the team in runs with two in the game.

Hits:   Miller and Braden Kolmansberger would lead the team in hits, with two in the win.

Stolen Bases: Johnny Kampes would lead the team in stolen bases with one.

Home Runs: Miller hit a home run in the win.

Game Two Recap (Versus Le Moyne):

Darin Miller would start this game off with a bang as he slapped a two-out, three-run home run to right field to give Goldey-Beacom a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

Fast forward to the bottom of the fifth inning, where Le Moyne’s Brody Keneston would hit a three-run home run to left field to tie the game up (3-3).

The Lightning would respond in the top of the sixth inning, where they scored three runs on three hits and an error to take a 6-3 lead.

Dante DiSabatino would get the scoring rolling in the inning when he hit an RBI single to left field to give his team a 4-3 edge.

Four plays later, Matt Benner would slap an RBI ground-rule double to right field to push Goldey’s advantage to 5-3 in the sixth inning.

On the next play, Braden Kolmansberger would score on a fielding error by the Dolphins’ shortstop to take the score to 6-3.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Le Moyne would tighten the score with Drew Carroll hitting a two-run home run to cut the lead to 6-5.

The Lightning would answer back in the top of the seventh inning when Dante DiSabatino would push in a run by flying out to left field to push his team’s edge to 7-5.

Le Moyne’s lineup couldn’t muster anything up in the bottom of the seventh inning, which sealed a 7-5 victory for Goldey-Beacom.

Pitching recap:

Freshman pitcher Kevin Dillon went 4.2 innings, gave up six hits, three runs, three earned runs, two walks, hit a batter, and two strikeouts.

Junior pitcher Karl Schmidt relieved Dillon, as he went 4.1 innings, gave up three hits, two runs, one walk, and earned the win.
