CACC Quarterfinals: Romero’s late goal lifts Wilmington past Jefferson 2-1

The Wilmington University men’s soccer team is heading the  Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference semifinals after defeating the Jefferson University Rams 2-1 on Tuesday.

The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were sophomore forward  Pol Romero, sophomore defender  Richard Thompson, sophomore midfielder  Tajhay Williams, freshman forward Mads-Emil Roestbjaerg, and sophomore goalkeeper Bas Markus.

Romero had one shot, one shot at the goal, and scored one goal in the win.

Thompson had one shot, one shot at the goal, and one assist in the game.

Williams had seven shots, one shot at the goal, and scored one goal in the win.

Roestbjaerg had one shot and one assist in the game.

Markus allowed one goal in 90 minutes and had two saves in the game.
