Wilmington earns its first win of the season with a 3-1 win over Millersville

Wilmington takes a 1-0 lead in the first period.

The Wildcats had no problem firing shots off in the first 40 minutes of the game, but none of the six attempts found the back of the net for a score. Millersville’s defense was a key reason why Wilmington stayed scoreless for so long, as the team blocked three of the six shots from WilmU.

As the first period was winding down, the Wildcats would charge down the field as Ryuga Uchigashima would find Evan Stevely, who would knock in the first goal of the game at the 43:22 minute mark.

WilmU wins 3-1!

Six minutes and 20 seconds into the second half, Wilmington would produce another score as Marcus Hedemann found the net to give his team a 2-0 advantage.

The momentum in this game was completely with the Wildcats as 31 minutes and 36 seconds later, Zack Fantine would find Marius Skattum Dahl, who pushed the third goal of the match for their team.

Seven minutes later, with the time running out in this one, Millersville would finally score their first goal of the game, but it would not matter as WilmU would take home a 3-1 victory.
