Genus scores two goals in Wildcats 8-0 win over Holy Family

Wilmington scored seven goals in the first period

The Wildcats did not waste any time getting their first goal on the board as Shawn Genus would get a penalty kick goal to go in, which put his team up 1-0 at the 22-second mark.

Fifteen minutes later, Wilmington would find the goal once again, as Paul Young Jr would get one past the Holy Family’s goalkeeper on a free-kick to expand his team’s lead to 2-0.

Two minutes later, Hakim Williams would push the ball through the net to give WilmU a 3-0 lead at the 17:40 minute mark. Genus would assist with Williams’s goal.

A couple of minutes later, Richard Thompson would get into the scoring party as he would score on a free kick from 30 yards out to give the Wildcats a 4-0 lead.

At the 28:36 minute mark, Genus would score his second goal of the day to extend his team’s lead to 5-0.

Three minutes later, Marcus Hedemann would join the scoring fun as he found the net to give Wilmington a 6-0 lead at the 31:59 minute mark. Pol Romero would assist with Hedermann’s goal.

The last goal of the first half would come at the 38:03 minute mark, when Shoki Yoshida would hit a low shot through the middle of the field to score the seventh goal of the day for the Wildcats. Hedemann would assist with Yoshida’s goal.

Wildcats win 8-0!

Wilmington would add one last goal in the second half of the game, which came from Arturo Serano as he found the net to seal an 8-0 win for his team. Genus would assist with Serano’s goal.
