The Delaware State football team opened up the season on Saturday with a 32-24 win over Bowie State. DSU’s offense was strong in the first half as 26 of the 32 points came during that period.
DSU Stat Leaders
Offense:
Tylik Bethea went nine for 18 and threw for 76 yards. Bethea also ran for one yard touchdown.
Sy’veon Wilkerson had 26 carries for 92 yards and three touchdowns.
Defense:
Antquan Kinsey was the co-leader on the team in tackles with six. Kinsey also had one sack.
Ronald Holmes was the co-leader on the team in tackles with six. Holmes also had two sack, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
Marcus Winfield had five tackles and one sack.
Kamari Jackson had four tackles and a forced fumble.
Daniel Douglas had two tackles and one interception.
Romell Harris-Freeman had one tackle and one interception.
Esaias Guthrie had one tackle and two interceptions. Guthrie took one of those interceptions for 13 yards for a touchdown.
