Goshorn’s two RBI’s help Lightning grab a 5-3 win over Nyack

Nyack scored three runs in the first inning

The Warriors would get the first runs on the board in this game as the team scored three runs in the first inning.

Nyack’s runs would come from a sacrifice fly, wild pitch, and a two-out RBI single.

This would be the Lightning’s pitcher Chrissy Jordan’s toughest inning with the three runs given up, two walks, and a wild pitch for a score, but she would keep Nyack scoreless for the rest of the game.

Lightning get two on the board in the third inning

Goldey-Beacom would get closer to the Warriors’ lead in the third inning as the team scored two runs to cut the lead to 3-2.

The top of the third inning started with Brooke Conaty hitting a double down the right-field line, and then on the next play, she would advance to third base on a wild pitch.

Two batters later, Hannah Davis would come to the plate as she would get hit by a pitch, and then on the following play, she would steal second base.

Kasey Goshorn would be the next batter up as she would hit a single to right field, which would score Conaty and Davis to cut the lead to 3-2 in the third inning.

Goldey-Beacom takes the lead in the fifth inning

The first action on the bases in the top of the fifth inning happened when Zoe Lockwood hit a single to the left-field, and she would follow that up by stealing second base.

Hannah Davis was the next batter up as she would earn a walk, and then Kasey Goshorn would also get a walk to the bases.

The bases were loaded when Braydee Whitman would hit into a sacrifice fly (flied out to right field), but it would allow Davis and Lockwood to score to give the Goldey a 4-3 lead.

Goldey win 5-3!

Goldey-Beacom was not done adding to their lead as the team pushed in one more run in the sixth inning to take a 5-3 lead.

The last run of the game came when Brooke Conaty would reach first base on an error, which would allow Kylie Quirk to score to extend the Lightning’s lead to 5-3.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, it was all up to Chrissy Jordan to seal the Lightning’s 5-3 win, which she did just that as she faced four batters, gave up one walk, and zero runs.
