Wilmington scored three runs in the first inning
The top of the first inning started with WilmU’s Haley Downin hitting a double to left-center field, and then two plays later, she would advance to third base on a wild pitch.
Lauren Lopez would be the next batter up, which she earned a walk.
The next play is not something you see every day, as Lopez would steal second base, but Downin would steal home to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
Annie Davila would come up to the plate as she would hit a single, which would score Lopez to give their team a 2-0 lead.
Four batters later, Arianna Millan would earn a two-out RBI walk, which would allow Davila to score to give Wilmington a 3-0 lead.

Wildcats add another run in the second inning
Wilmington would continue to add to their lead as Annie Davila would hit a single up the middle, which would score Haley Downin to give their team a 4-0 lead in the top of the second inning.
WilmU adds one run in the third inning
The next run for the Wildcats came when Haley Downin would reach first base on an error that allowed Isabella Eleazar to score to push their team’s lead to 5-0 in the third inning.
Wilmington pushes two more runs in the sixth
In the sixth inning, WilmU found other ways to get on base and advance without getting a hit. The Wildcats stole three bases in the inning, walked once, and reached on based on an error.
The scoring run of the inning came when Isabella Eleazar hit a single to left field, which would score Courtney Dellinger and Alyssa Velasquez to expand Wilmington’s lead to 7-0.

WilmU would push in three more runs in the seventh to give them a 10-0 lead.

After pitching six scoreless innings, Alexandra Ballester just needed one solid inning for a complete game shutout which she did just that as shut down the Tigers hitters in the bottom of the seventh to seal the 10-0 win.
