Hens up by eight points after one-quarter of play
In the first five minutes of the game, it was the Jasmine Dickey show as she scored all seven of Delaware’s points in that time period to give them a 7-4 lead.
Seconds later, Fordham would tie the game up with a Kaitlyn Downey three-point shot.
Starting at the 4:06 minute mark, the Blue Hens would go on a 12-4 run, which would give the team a 19-11 lead after one quarter of play. The leader of this run was once again Dickey, who scored seven of the 12 points. The defense stepped up during this run as the team had three defensive rebounds and two steals.
Blue Hens lead by 13 points at the end of the first half
In the first three minutes of the second quarter, Delaware would push their lead into the double digits as the team added eight more points to hold a 27-15 advantage.
At the 6:12 minute mark, the Rams would outscore the Hens 7-2, which cut the lead to 29-22 with 4:17 left in the first half.
Starting at the 3:41 minute mark, the Blue Hens would go on a 10-4 run to take a 39-26 into halftime. The duo of Jasmine Dickey and Ty Battle would score eight of the ten points on the run. The Hens defensive play continued to be solid as the team had four defensive rebounds and three steals on the run.
Delaware up by 22 after three-quarters of play
The second half would start with the Blue Hens marching out to an 11-2 run which gave the team a 50-28 lead with 6:24 left in the third quarter. Paris McBride was a leader on this run as she had three points and two assists.
Starting at the 5:02 minute mark, each team would score six points for the rest of the third quarter, but Delaware would still hold a 56-34 lead.
Blue Hens win by 28
In the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, the Hens would continue to push on the gas as the team went on a 16-8 run, which gave them a 72-42 lead. The three-point shot was a key factor on the run as the team made three which came from Paris McBride, redshirt junior guard/forward Chyna Latimer, and freshman guard Tyi Skinner.
Starting at the 4:19 minute mark, the Rams would outscore Delaware 7-5, but it would not matter as the Hens took home a 77-49 win.
