The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team earned the 11th win of the season with an 11-7 victory over the Caldwell University Cougars on Sunday.

Goldey-Beacom leads by six runs at the end of the fourth inning.
Caldwell would light up the scoreboard first in this game, as the team had an RBI double in center field to give his team a 1-0 edge in the top of the opening inning.
The Lightning responded in the bottom of the inning with Sophomore outfielder/pitcher Roman Keith smoking a triple to right center to tie the game at one.
Sophomore infielder Owen Knerr stepped up to the plate next and hit a RBI double to right field to give the Bolts a 2-1 advantage.
In the bottom of the third, Sophomore catcher/infielder Jake Macey would get the scoring started with a two-run double to right center to give GBC a 4-1 lead.
Two plays later, Macey would score on a dropped fly ball by Caldwell’s second base to give his team a 5-1 advantage.
In the fourth inning, Goldey expanded their edge to 7-1, when senior catcher Joey Current smoked a RBI single to left center and Junior infielder Bobby Stewart hit a RBI double to the pitcher.
The Lightning takes home an 11-7 win!
Caldwell would break their silent streak in the fifth when they scored one run on one hit and two errors to slice the score to 7-2.
GBC responded in the bottom of the inning, with sophomore infielder Jaime Neris Jr. slapping a two-run homer to left center to give his team a 9-2 advantage.
The Cougars would continue to claw back in this game, as they scored three runs on two hits and two errors to tighten the score to 9-5.
Goldey-Beacom extended their edge to 11-5 in the bottom of the eighth, with Jake Macey pushing in a run with a SAC Fly, and sophomore infielder/outfielder Connor Wilson scored on a throwing error by Caldwell.
Caldwell would score two more runs in the ninth, but the Lightning would hang on to win 11-7.

Goldey-Beacom used four pitchers in the game, including sophomore pitcher Zach Davis, who went five innings, gave up three hits, two runs, one earned run, four walks, struck out four batters, and earned the win.
