The University of Delaware women’s basketball team earned its tenth win of the season on Sunday with a 51-48 win over the Florida International Panthers.
Senior guard Ella Wanzer led the Blue Hens in scoring in the win, with 13 points.
Junior guard Lay Fantroy recorded a double-double in the game, scoring 12 points and collecting ten rebounds.
Junior guard Safi Kolliegbo also scored in double digits in the victory, as she had 11 points.
UD had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included fast-break points (6-3), blocks (4-1), and assists (14-11)
The Blue Hens also had the advantage in shooting, with the team boasting 40% (19-47) and FIU 30%(18-61). UD also bested the Panthers from the three-point line, with the team shooting 40%(8-20) and FIU shooting 29%( 6-21).

Florida International was not messing around in the opening period, as they had everything going their way offensively and defensively, with the team taking an 18-8 lead into the second quarter.

The Blue Hens would continue to struggle to find a rhythm in the second quarter, as the Panthers would hold a 31-18 advantage with 1:39 left in the first half.
UD did end the half on a good note, scoring three straight points to cut the deficit to ten points (31-21).
UD trails by three points at the end of the third quarter.
Delaware started to find their shots in the early minutes of the second half, as the team went on a 10-5 run to pull the deficit to five points (36-31) with 5:02 left in the third quarter. Freshman guard Kailah Correa and Ella Wanzer combined to nail three shots from the three-point line during this stretch.
The Hens would score eight more points in the quarter to tighten the score to three points (42-39) heading into the fourth.

Delaware continued to fight and clawed all the way back by outscoring FIU 8-4 in the early minutes of the fourth to take a 47-46 lead with 4:47 left in the game. Sophomore guard Trinity Vance and Safi Kolliegbo led the charge during this time, scoring all eight points.
UD would outscore the Panthers 4-2 for the rest of the fourth to seal a strong 51-48 comeback win.
