The University of Delaware men’s basketball team earned its fourth victory of the season on Tuesday with a 65-57 win over the Rider Broncs.
Sophomore forward Macon Emory led the team in scoring in the win, with 17 points.
Two other Hens players scored in double digits in the victory: Junior guard Christian Bliss (10) and Senior guard Justyn Fernandez (12).
Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (30-26), points off of turnovers (9-6), blocks (5-0), steals (5-4), and assists (14-10.
UD also had the advantage in shooting, with the team boasting 47% (22-47) and Rider 36%(22-61). The Blue Hens also bested the Broncs from the three-point line, with the team shooting 31%( 5-16) and Rider shooting 16%(4-25).

Delaware had no problem finding a rhythm early in this game, as the team jumped out to a 20-8 edge with 6:34 left in the opening half. Macon Emory led the charge, scoring seven of the 20 points.
Rider punched back by outscoring the Blue Hens 17-11 for the rest of the first half to cut the deficit to six points (31-25).
Delaware takes home a 65-57 win!
Fast forward to the 8:03 minute mark in the second half, where Justyn Fernandez nailed a three-pointer to put the Hens up by ten (50-40).
The Broncs clawed back into the game by going on a 10-3 run to slice the deficit to three points (53-50) with 3:30 remaining in the game.
UD wouldn’t lose its lead, as the team outscored Rider 12-7 in the final minutes of the game to seal a 65-57 victory. Eight of their points during this time came from the free-throw line.
