The Wilmington University men’s soccer team closed its regular season by defeating the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning 3-1 on Wednesday.

The Wildcats didn’t waste any time in lighting up the scoreboard in this one, as senior midfielder Alex Tarway found the net at the 1:53 mark to give his team a 1-0 edge. Freshman midfielder Jacques Mason assisted on the score.
WilmU graduate student forward Theo Faillon put his team 2-0 when he blasted in a Penalty Kick goal at the 15:44 minute mark in the opening half.
The Wildcats take home a 3-1 win!
A couple of minutes into the second half saw Goldey-Beacom light up the scoreboard for the first time in the game to cut the deficit to one (2-1) at the 47:35 mark.
WilmU wouldn’t lose its lead as Sophomore forward Michiharu Takanashi found the back of the net at the 72:24 mark to seal a 3-1 win for his team. Sophomore forward Jhamaleek Porter assisted on the goal.

The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Theo Faillon, Alex Tarway, Jacques Mason, Jhamaleek Porter, Michiharu Takanashi, and freshman goalkeeper Emil Lollike.
