The Wilmington University women’s soccer team earned its ninth win of the season on Wednesday with a 3-1 victory over the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning.

It took some time for the scoreboard to be awakened in this match, as WilmU’s freshman defender Indigo Kirk would put the first goal on the board at the 30:52 minute mark to give her team a 1-0 edge. Junior forward Sierra Bartley assisted on the score.
The Wildcats outscored Goldey-Beacom 5-0 in the opening half.
WilmU takes home a 3-1 win!
The Lightning struck in the second half as they tied the game at one with a score at the 67:18 mark.
Four minutes and 34 seconds later, the Cats took the lead once as Sophomore midfielder Stef Barrios found the back of the net to bring the score to 2-1.
A couple of minutes later, at the 76:36 minute mark, Sierra Bartley found the net to seal a 3-1 win for Wilmington over Goldey-Beacom. Redshirt junior forward Evelyn Payne assisted on the goal.

The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Evelyn Payne, Stef Barrios, Indigo Kirk, Sierra Bartley, and junior goalkeeper Arianna Myers.
Payne had three shots and one assist in the game.
Barrios had one shot, one shot at the goal, and scored a goal in the win.
Kirk had one shot, one shot at the goal, and scored a goal in the victory.
Bartley had three shots, two shots at the goal, scored one goal, and had one assist in the match.
Myers allowed zero goals and had two saves in 90 minutes in the game.
