The Wilmington University women’s soccer team earned its eighth victory of the season on Sunday by defeating St. Thomas Aquinas College 3-1.

The Wildcats didn’t waste any time scoring in this one, with Redshirt junior forward Evelyn Payne blasting the ball in for the goal at the 1:57 mark to give her team a 1-0 edge. Freshman forward Eboni Bradshaw assisted on the score.
The Wildcats take home a 3-1 win!
After getting an assist in the first half, Eboni Bradshaw would score a goal of her own almost 17 minutes in the second half to give WilmU a 2-0 edge. Sophomore midfielder Stef Barrios assisted on the score.
Later in the game at the 82:15 mark, junior midfielder Ashante Wilson-Campbell expanded the Cats’ lead to 3-0 when she found the back of the net. Evelyn Payne assisted on the score.
St. Thomas Aquinas finally would get on the board at the 86:30 mark, but Wilmington still took home a 3-1 win.
Stats and standouts:
The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Eboni Bradshaw, Evelyn Payne, Stef Barrios, Ashante Wilson-Campbell, and Redshirt sophomore Goalkeeper Isabella Mazzone, and junior goalkeeper Arianna Myers.
Bradshaw had five shots, three shots at the goal, scored one goal, and had one assist in the win.
Payne had six shots, four shots at the goal, scored one goal, and had one assist in the game.
Barrios had one assist in the match.
Wilson-Campbell had one shot, one shot at the goal, and scored one goal in the victory.
Myers allowed zero goals and had four saves in 45 minutes in the game.
Mazzone allowed one goal and had five saves in 45 minutes in the win.
