Dixon’s late second half goal lifts Goldey-Beacom to 2-1 victory over Bridgeport

The Goldey-Beacom women’s soccer team earned its third win of the season on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights.

The game was tied at one at the end of the first half.

Scoring didn’t happen right away in this match, as the first score wouldn’t happen till the 31:15 mark.

Junior defender Lexy Yeager was the one who ended the silence on the scoreboard as she found the net to give the Lightning a 1-0 lead. Sophomore forward Ryley Dixon assisted on Yeager’s goal.

A couple of minutes later, Bridgeport found the firepower to tie the game at one.

Goldey-Beacom takes home a 2-1 win!

Ryley Dixon had an assist in the first half, but she would score the game-winning goal in the second half at the 80-minute mark to seal a 2-1 victory for GBC. Junior forward Tamara Trumic assisted on Dixon’s goal.
