Wilmington University Shuts Out Bridgeport, 2-0

The Wilmington University women’s soccer team earned its fifth win of the season on Saturday, shutting out the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights, 2-0.

Wilmington leads by one goal at the end of the first half.

The Wildcats would get on the board first in this match as freshman forward Eboni Bradshaw found the net at the 14-minute mark to give her team a 1-0 edge. Freshman defender Indigo Kirk assisted on Bradshaw’s score.

Wilmington added another goal to their lead at the 61st minute mark when junior forward Sierra Bartley blasted the ball in for the score to give her team a 2-0 advantage. Eboni Bradshaw and Redshirt junior forward Evelyn Payne assisted on the goal.

The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Eboni Bradshaw, Indigo Kirk,  Sierra Bartley, Evelyn Payne, and junior goalkeeper Arianna Myers.

Bradshaw had five shots, one shot at the goal, one assist, and scored a goal in the win.

Kirk had two shots and one assist in the game.

Bartley had four shots, one shot at the goal, and scored one goal in the game.

Payne had one shot and one assist in the win.

Myers allowed zero goals and had two saves in 90 minutes of the game.
