Building on their recent momentum, the Wilmington University men’s soccer team secured a 2-0 win over the West Chester University Golden Rams on Wednesday. WilmU now holds a 2-0-1 record to start the season, and it’s the first time since 2021 that the team hasn’t had a loss to the name in the first three games to open the year.

The Wildcats set the tone early. Senior midfielder Alex Tarway was dodging and making moves on defenders like a video game, and then blasted the ball from the 18-yard line to enter the net in the upper corner to give his team a 1-0 lead around the 31-minute mark.
Shortly after Tarway’s goal, Redshirt freshman midfielder Jiung Ha fired off a shot from 16 yards that went in at the far upper corner to give his team a 2-0 edge. Ludvig Danielsson and Ben Cracknell assisted on Ha’s score.
Stats and standouts:
The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Alex Tarway, Jiung Ha, Ludvig Danielsson, Ben Cracknell, and freshman goalkeeper Emil Lollike.
Tarway had seven shots, five shots at the goal, and scored one goal in the game.
Ha had one shot, one shot at the goal, and scored one goal in the win.
Danielsson had one assist in the game.
Cracknell had two shots and one assist in the victory.
