The Wilmington University women’s soccer team won their second straight game to start the season as the team defeated the Bentley University Falcons 1-0 on Saturday. It is the first time since 2010 that WilmU has started the season 2-0.

It took some time for a score in this one, but it finally happened at the 37th minute when redshirt junior defender Maria Leguizamon headed the ball in for the score to give WilmU a 1-0 lead. Junior Cayley Winters earned the assist on Leguizamon’s goal.
Stats and standouts:
The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Maria Leguizamon, Cayley Winters, and junior goalkeeper Arianna Myers.
Leguizamon had four shots, four shots at the goal and scored one goal in the game.
Winters had one assist in the win.
Myers allowed zero goals and had six saves in 90 minutes of the game.
