The Wilmington University men’s soccer team earned their first win of the season on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over the American International College Yellow Jackets.

It didn’t take very long for a score in this one as senior midfielder Alex Tarway gave the Wildcats the lead at the nine-minute mark, when he headed the ball in for the score to give his team a 1-0 lead. Freshman midfielder Jacques Mason earned the assist on Tarway’s goal.
Wilmington limited American International to seven shots in the first half and seven in the second. WilmU had 15 shots in the first half and 13 in the second.

The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Alex Tarway, Jacques Mason, and freshman goalkeeper Emil Lollike.
Tarway had five shots, three shots at the goal, and scored one goal in the game.
Mason had five shots, three shots at the goal, and one assist in the victory.
Lollike, allowed zero goals and had six saves in 90 minutes in the win.
