The Wilmington University men’s soccer team opened the 2025 season with a tie versus the Adelphi University Panthers.
Game Recap:
Wilmington University holds a one-goal lead at the end of the first half.
It took some time for the first goal to be scored, but near the 31-minute mark, graduate student forward Theo Faillon found the net, giving the Wildcats a 1-0 edge.
Adelphi outshot WilmU 9-3 in the first half of this game.
WilmU takes home a 1-1 tie versus the Panthers.
The Wildcats did a good job for most of the second half of keeping Adelphi from any good looks on the goal and letting the Panthers take three shots.
One of those shots took away a victory for the Wildcats, as around the 79-minute mark, Lucas Nicolaou pushed the ball through the net to tie the game at 1-1.
Stats and standouts:
The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Theo Faillon and goalkeeper Emil Lollike.
Faillon had two shots, one at the goal, and scored one goal in the game.
Lollike, allowed one goal and had two saves in 90 minutes in the tie.
