The Wilmington University baseball team took home the deciding game three CACC first-round tournament win over the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning on Saturday with a wild 13-12 victory.

Wilmington University leads by three runs at the end of the sixth inning.
Goldey-Beacom lit up the scoreboard first in this game with an RBI double to right field in the opening inning to take a 1-0 edge.
Graduate student infielder Josearmando Diaz would give the Cats a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the inning with a three-run homer to right center.
Sophomore outfielder/pitcher Brandon Grygo pushed WilmU’s advantage to 4-1 in the second with an RBI double to right center.
The Lightning tied the game up at four in the top of the third with a solo homer and a two-run bomb to right-center.
Goldey-Beacom grabbed the lead at the top of the fourth with a three-run homer to center field to take a 7-4 edge.
Wilmington responded in the bottom of the inning with Senior outfielder/ pitcher Shawn Edevane hitting a two-run double to right field, and sophomore pitcher/first baseman Chase Fleming smoked an RBI single up the middle to tie the game at seven.
Senior catcher/first baseman Nick Classie gave the Cats the lead in the fifth when he led the bottom of the inning with a solo homer to right center to give his team an 8-7 edge.
Four plays later, Junior infielder Tyler Pirrung pushed WilmU’s advantage to 9-7 when he hit a double down the third base line.
Sophomore shortstop/pitcher Garrett Quinn extended the Cats’ lead to 10-7 in the sixth with an RBI single through the right side.
The Wildcats take home a 13-12 victory!
Goldey-Beacom would claw closer to the lead (10-9) in the top of the seventh by scoring two runs with an RBI double and pushing home a run by reaching base on a fielder’s choice.
The Lightning continued to have the momentum at the top of the eighth when they took an 11-10 advantage with two RBI singles.
Wilmington responded at the bottom of the inning with Josearmando Diaz scoring on a wild pitch and Garrett Quinn hitting an RBI single to right center to take a 12-11 lead.
Goldey-Beacom came up in the top of the ninth and tied the game up at 12 with an RBI double to left center.
Freshman infielder Zach Rosenzweig would give the Cats the win in the bottom of the inning with a walk-off RBI single through the right side to give his team a 13-12 victory!
Pitching Recap:
Wilmington University used four pitchers in the game, including Senior pitcher Scott Borgmann, who pitched 0.1 innings, had one strikeout, and earned the win.
