The Wilmington University softball team is the CACC Champions after beating the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning 2-1 in the final round of the CACC tournament on Saturday. By winning today, WilmU captured its third consecutive CACC title.

Wilmington University takes home the CACC Crown with a 2-1 win!
The Wildcats would get on the board first in this game, with Senior catcher Bella Barnes pushing home on a run on a Sac Fly. Then, freshman pitcher/outfielder Maddie Vollmar also scored on an error, taking the score to 2-0 at the bottom of the opening inning.
Fast forward to the seventh inning, where Goldey-Beacom would score one run, but WilmU hung on to claim the CACC title with a 2-1 win.
Pitching Recap:
Senior pitcher Kylee Gunkel earned the win by going 5.1 innings, giving up four hits, one run, one earned run, one walk, and striking out three.
Maddie Vollmar earned the save by going 0.2 innings, giving up one hit, and striking out one.
