The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team earned a split versus the Wilmington University Wildcats on Sunday with a 12-7 win in the first game and an 18-4 loss in the second.

Goldey-Beacom leads by three runs at the end of the fifth inning.
The Lightning would take the lead in this game at the bottom of the third when senior infielder Jaden Dickerson blasted a three-run homer to center field to give his team a 3-0 edge.
Wilmington tied the game at three in the top of the fourth by scoring three runs on one hit and one error.
GBC regained the lead at the bottom of the inning when Senior outfielder Matt Benner slugged a two-run homer to left field to take the score to 5-3.
The bats would keep firing for Goldey-Beacom in the bottom of the fifth, with freshman infielder Brent Williams hitting a two-run single to left center, and then two plays later, senior catcher Adam McEvoy slapped a RBI single to center field to give their team an 8-3 advantage.
The Lightning takes home a 12-7 win!
Senior infielder Braden Kolmansberger would give the Lightning a 9-3 lead in the bottom of the sixth when he pushed home a run with a Sac Fly.
The Wildcats would claw back in this game in the top of the seventh when the team scored two runs on two hits and one error to bring the score to 9-5.
In the bottom of the inning, GBC would get those two runs back with a walk pushing home a run, and then Kolmansberger getting a runner home when he got hit by a pitch to bring their advantage to 11-5.
Wilmington would cut the score to 11-7 in the top of the eighth when they scored two runs on two hits and one error.
In the bottom of the inning, the Lightning pushed the score to 12-7 when they scored on a wild pitch.
Pitching Recap:
Goldey-Beacom used three pitchers in the game, including junior pitcher Connor Blence, who pitched 6.2 innings, gave up four hits, five runs, one earned run, three walks, struck out five, and earned the win.
Senior pitcher Wyatt Atkinson earned the save by going 1.1 innings, giving up one hit, one walk, and striking out one.
